Our Story

Lynn and Alison opened their first nursery in Charmouth in September 2002. In February 2005 we opened our second nursery in Axminster, Devon, which is registered to take 50 children. Due to a fall in numbers of children in the Charmouth area, and an increase in demand in Axminster, Lynn and Alison decided to close their Charmouth nursery and concentrate on Axminster, which continues to go from strength to strength.

Axminster is a great location for Tick Tocks, we moved into our new purposely built building at the beginning of October 2017. The building was specifically designed with the children in mind. We have a baby and toddler room for the children to explore, this room has its own craft area, bathroom and two sleep rooms. A great new addition to our nursery is the sensory room, for all the children to enjoy and relax in. 

We have a large pre-school room giving the children many learning opportunities, this room also has its own craft area and bathroom. We have a garden which is accessible from each of the rooms with covered areas for all year round play. We also have an indoor soft play area for the children.

Other flexible hours upon request and availability, please ask for more information.
There will be a late collection charge of £5 for every 15 minutes there after.

Funding

*** Please Note:  We are currently updating our fee's due to the recent changes in childcare funding. We will update the website as soon as we can. In the meantime please contact us via email regarding availability and fee's. ***

Children who attend using their funded entitlement will have additional charges for consumables etc; added to their invoice. This is to cover fees not covered by the funded entitlement.
​They will be charged as follows:

2 Year Old Funded Sessions

Morning or afternoon - £7.50 per session to include snack and nappies  
Whole Day - £18.50 per day to include snack, lunch and nappies
Hours outside of the funded entitlement will be charged at the hourly/session/daily rate whichever may apply.

3 Year Old Funded Sessions

9am - 3pm - £7.50 to include daily consumables.  
9am - 12pm session - £3 to include all consumables.
8.30am – 9am - £4
3pm – 5pm - £14.50

We accept the 2, 3 & 4 Year Funding as well as the extended 30 Hours funding. We also offer a Pre School session 9am - 3pm Term Time only as well as all Year Round.

From September 2024 there will be funding available for children from 9 months old. This will be for eligible working parents. For more information please look at Childcare Choices and register for updates. 

Booking Your Child into Tick Tocks

To book your child into Tick Tocks we take a £75 non-refundable Introduction Fee along with the first months fees in advance; this is non refundable if you cancel the place. If you are booking a place in advance you will be charged full price for the space once it becomes the last available space within your child’s age group. 

We take bookings one term in advance, however we can hold a waiting list for children wishing to book further than one term in advance.
